Shangri La Mactan - A Day in Paradise

For my final day in Cebu, Mia and I decided to spend our Monday at Shangri La Mactan. =)

We got a day pass aka A Day in Paradise. Not a bad deal at all. You get a full day pass (8am - 6pm) with access to pools and the beach, free towel use and lunch buffet at Tides. For an extra P300 each, you can use the lockers at the Health Club... which had a wet and dry sauna, jacuzzi, showers... with free towel, soap, shampoo, gel, etc ready at your disposal. =)

We had so much fun! Time flew so quickly. The pools were lovely and the beach was great! nice white powdery sand... and the water was full of fishes! you could even feed them while snorkling. =)

A great great way to end the weekend!

Looking forward to more weekends like these. =)

Plantation Bay with Mia's Family for Mia's 25th Birthday

had lunch with Mia's family and grandparents at Kilimanjaro Restaurant at Plantation Bay.

Announced to her grandparents as well that we're engaged. =)

Happy day!

The Dinner =)

Had dinner at Anzani, one of Cebu's newest and finest restaurants along Nivel Hills overlooking the City...

Special arrangement with the staff for our special dinner... asked for the best seat in the house... originally offered a nice corner table for two... while waiting to order, decided to have our drinks first on the patio with a view of the city lights... nice =) ... then instead of our corner table, we were led to their Wine Cellar which had a table already set for just the two of us... great ambiance... good food... truly a wonderful and memorable dinner. =)

Down the Easter Road: An Online Lenten Prayer Series with Hangad

Take our hands, lead us Lord, let us walk with You down the Easter Road.

Change our hearts, move our souls with the love we find on the Easter Road.

In our hurried and taxing lives, we often overlook the true spirit of Lent and Holy Week. We eagerly anticipate the joy and celebration of the Christmas season, but we seldom appreciate the significance of Easter. We need to constantly be reminded that Easter is the Christian occasion of greatest importance - even over Christmas. After all, everyone is born. But only Christ was reborn! What would be the significance of Christ's birth, if there were not a resurrection? What would be the meaning of Christmas, if Jesus did not go on to suffer, die, and rise again? This divine miracle of Easter came to pass for all of us. So in commemoration, we are invited to relive the journey He took down the sorrowful and glorious Easter road.

This Lenten season, come take this journey through prayer with Hangad. Share with us four weeks of reflection, to ask for the grace of the Holy Spirit to reveal to us once more how we are beloved by God despite our human frailty.

For four weeks until Easter, set aside ten to twenty minutes of your time as we are guided by different prayer themes. Each week, scripture and music will lead us into recollection and prayer.

Cebu March 2009

Visited Mia again last weekend (Mar 7-8). Stayed at Microtel Mactan (thanks to the GC I won at the LCF Christmas party!). Cool place. Quirky design. Beach was ok. Sand was rather rocky.

Enjoyed a really good buffet lunch at Gustavian (Terraces, Ayala) and dinner at Cyma (same place). Dinner at Microtel was not bad either.

A great weekend with Mia as usual. =)

Sinulog - Cebu January 2009

The day started well as I explored Plantation Bay again and swam a bit in the nearby lagoon and pool before checking out and heading for Mia's house. However it was quite difficult to get a taxi that morning and the girl in charge of travels for the hotel didn't do much to help. So I decided to catch the hotel shuttle to the airport and get a cab from there which I easily did. The trip from the airport to Mia's house was uneventful but when I finally got out of the cab and entered Mia's house, I suddenly realized that my Creative Zen mp3 player was missing. It fell out of my pocket when I left the cab. Doink... Bad trip. Loved that mp3 player. Good thing there was more to this day that helped brighten it.

Watched parts of the Sinulog celebration parade on the street as the performers made their way to the Cebu Sports Complex for the contest.

Had lunch with Mia's family at Mooon Cafe located at the new wing of Ayala Center Cebu. Went shopping afterwards, picking up souvenir t-shirts from Island Souvenirs. Then had gelato at the newly opened Gelatissimo - chocolate truffle, roasted almond, and wild berries. Yum!

Then for dinner, we headed out to Tinder Box. Had salad, seafood risotto, and pork schnitzel. And triple chocolate layered mousse for dessert. The food was ok. Kinda pricey but enjoyed it nonetheless. The conversation was 'bitin' as usual since we had to go home early (by 930pm) per Mia's parents' orders. But stayed up with Mia until late night (a little past 11pm) just talking outside their house.

Another enjoyable and memorable Cebu trip. =) Can't wait until the next one to be with Mia again.

Plantation Bay - January 2009

Visited Mia in Plantation Bay last Jan 17 to celebrate "Christmas, New Year, and my birthday" and to experience Sinulog (see next album).

Stayed at a Lagoon View room c/o Mia. Went rockclimbing, did some archery, and basically just relaxed at the Mogambo SPA pools. Sarap. Great way to spend the day with Mia. =)

Stayed up until dinner talking until Mia had to go home. Woke up the next day to go around again for a while and swim before heading to the city to meet up with Mia for Sinulog at around 10am.
